Busy Day

Today was a relatively busy day.  It started early!  Around 2am to be exact.  Our bedroom lost power, not the whole house mind you.  Just the bedroom.  For most people that probably wouldn’t have been noticed until either the alarm clock failed to go off or when you tried to turn the lights on.  Not me.  I cannot sleep with out a fan running.  Doesn’t matter if it is the middle of the winter or the middle of the summer.  I can’t sleep without the white noise.  It doesn’t even blow on the bed.  It is behind my dresser blowing straight against the wall!  But let me tell you, as soon as it stopped, I was wide awake.  I could hear every little noise in the house.  So needless to say, I had to get up and investigate.  Earlier in the day, we had smelled something like burning plastic in the living room but couldn’t find it.  It eventually went away, never came back and was the source never identified.  So that was in the back of my mind too.  No smell.  So off to the garage I go to check the breakers.  Apparently my air compressor kicked on and that popped the breaker.  So, I turned it off and reset the breaker.  Whew, I could sleep now!  Of course at 6am my 3 pups tell me it is time to go bark at the dark.  Out they go until we get up at 7am.

After our morning prayers and devotional time.  I fixed my wife’s lunch and coffee, then kissed her on her way out the door to work.  I got to work on finishing the layout for this site and then it was off to my noon AA meeting.  It was a really good meeting.  We discussed the Fourth Step.  I am not quite there yet.  My sponsor and I should start on it next week.  I am a little apprehensive about it, but I know that if I don’t do it to the best of my ability, I will drink again.  And I certainly don’t want that.

On my way home I stopped for my free Slurpee and a bag of Cheetos before cutting the grass for the last time this season.  I hope!  Yes, I have apparently traded one addiction for another!  🙂  I also had to order 11 large pizza’s for our Bible Study group tonight.  It is a great married couples group.  My only complaint is that we now are allowing our adult SINGLE children to attend.  My issue with this is that there have been topics that I WILL not discuss in front of mine or anyone else’s children.  Enough of the rant.  🙂  Tonight we started a new series that looks very interesting.  It is based on a book by Louis Giglio called “Goliath Must Fall – Winning the Battle Against Your Giants”.  In a nutshell it is about how to defeat the “Giants” in your life by relying on God not on self.  This could be addiction, finances, etc.

Good Night and God Bless
